For most of you the following may be a well known thingie, but this is my blog, my space, and my thoughts. Well the only things that will be yours is, your eyes, your reactions and your comments but mind you on my blog!! :P
So lets begin this blog shall we?....
In this blog I want to share some of the things that I have felt or experienced etc etc... about life.
Life is more like a cricket bowler. You can never predict exactly if its a fast one, a slow one, a googly or a spin that it is throwing at you, until the very last moment. So the best way to handle life I feel is, not to predict it and just play it as it comes. (Tough for me not to look at the horoscope in the morning, but am 'trying' to play life it as it comes.)
There are many things I have learnt , unlearnt and learnt them all over again. It may sound funny but trust me, sometimes it takes more than one bite to teach someone to shy away from doing the same thing all over again. (For those of you who dint get it, a hint "once bitten twice shy"?. now you get it! .. ;) wink )
Recalling something that I heard from a fav comedy series, "The easiest way to lose something is to want it too bad". And to rub salt on those wounds, its only when you have lost something or know that you cannot see or be with whom you want to be all the time, that you cherish it more. Life, is nice indeed...
But what I'd like to write more in this blog is about Jasmine..Not that one. ->
Yup, a Jasmine flower...
From my vague recollections of what I was taught in my grade school, I remember this poem in which a jasmine was being compared to life. What I understood from it was, its better to be a shy little flower like a jasmine that would make someone happy just by being it and smelling nice than being a tree that would live on and on for a long time without spreading any sort of joy.
Now I can make more sense out of that poem. For what seemed like a silly flower to me at that time, it now occurs to me that its a jasmine that you could pick and gift it to someone you love, for its that silly jasmine if given to me by someone whom I love, would be cherished.
Why the poet says that a life like that of a Jasmine is much better than that of a tree is what I realize now. Cause being a Jasmine, you can make the people around you happy. And what do you get by making the people around you happy? Immortality.
Warning, the following is really dramatic and emotional. For those of you with Low BP, please skip to the end... Thanks for saving your own lives...
Yup, Immortality... Cause people whose lives have had a change cause of you, will always cherish you in their hearts. And that way, even if yours stops beating someday, there will be someother heart with your memories in it. Well, to be honest I dint make all of this up... Its just some things that I have heard from here and there which made sense to me and that I wanted to share it with others who dint chance upon this and who dont have low BP.
I have been searching for my Jasmine for sometime now, and then it suddenly hit me. There is not just one person who is my jasmine, but so many so that I can say everyday I walk through a garden full of Jasmines.
Well, I wont lie by saying there only Jasmines in my garden, there are a few thorny bushes and cacti here and there. But even so, flowers do bloom on top of em every once in a while. And when that flower blooms, I feel like nipping it right in the bud... :D .. sorry just kidding...(Note to myself: You wish I were! wait you little thorny b*****s,... am gonna get ya!!...) ahem...Its bushes. Just wanted to see how horrible your twisted minds are :D ...
But please note, cutting all the jokes out, the point is to be a Jasmine which will be cherished maybe in some book, rather than being a tree which will be cut down someday to be a book where some Jasmine will be cherished..And just like I have been searching for my Jasmine flower, people whom I can cherish, I'd like to be a Jasmine someday to people who will cherish me as well... Get it? No? Maybe you can try reading the blog out loud if you dint...
So finally the vote of thanks...Unlike my previous two blogs that never seemed to end, am keeping this one relatively short like the life of a jasmine. Hope it was as sweet as well. And that my friend is "THE END"... tada...!
