Just finished Victor Gischler’s “The Pistol Poets” about a gangbanger who impersonates a poetry grad student after having murdered the original. There is also an aged professor in the book who gets in an argument about James Joyce with another aged academic at a faculty event, and then throws a copy of “Finnegan’s Wake” at his enemy as he’s biking across the street the next day. The best line in the book is “I better not kill him. I’ll never get tenure” “No, it’s not like the old days”
