David Linzee's 1987 novel "Housebreaker" is an inspiration to us all. A paralegal is fired for covering up her lover's legal error, lover doesn't defend her, so she sells jewelry he gave her to a fence, who proposes she sneak back into the firm and go into probate files, and find out what he can steal...then someone is killed by the burglar and she's in a world of hurt...moral, men are pigs, and fences are remarkably two-faced.
